In honor of Spring and the deep cleaning associated with it, I want to host a simple tip every week to help you (slowly but surely) get your home into tip top shape for the warmer months!
First up? How to clean the grime from your shower head.
Combine the following in a plastic baggie:
Then using a twist tie/rubber band or simply tying a knot with the bag itself, secure the baggie (and its liquid) around the shower or faucet head.
Let sit overnight and remove to a squeaky clean fixture!
While my body may not be bikini ready yet… the rest of me sure is! Let’s bring on summer!! In the mean time, I have been non-stop window shopping for cute suits and wanted to share some of them with you (I seem to think that when you buy the suit you are going to look like the model wearing it… no success yet. I’ll keep you posted).

Last week I wanted to kick off entertaining season with an impromptu dinner party with our neighbors… so I spent a couple hours prepping in the morning before work and was able to put dinner on the table within a half hour! Greek food is not only super tasty and light, but maintains pretty well at room temperature, so it’s great for nibbling on over a couple glasses bottles of wine.
This month’s Martha Stewart magazine had the most impressive “pita party” menu, so I bypassed the whole menu planning portion and stuck with their ideas (with a few of my added flairs of course!). I loved that basically everything could be made ahead and required minimal clean up… I can’t wait to recreate this menu this summer when produce is at its peak and even more impressive.
Greek Menu
I adorned the table with some cut lemons, fig leaves, a handful to tiny votives and my favorite blue ikat napkins. This colorful menu barely required any additional decor… but when in Greece Rome!
Last winter I had posted about my basic Gin & Tonic with finger lime, but wanted to bring back the classic summer approach to a Gin and Tonic. When using the best ingredients this drink tastes like some of my more involved recipes – but with just a few ingredients you will be good to go. We love this cocktail for our pool side happy hours. It is easy to whip up but impressive to look at and even more delicious to sip!
