Since we’ve moved into our new home together I’ve wanted to host a real party… nothing fancy, just something that required thought and planning. Brunch is one of my favorite meals, and with Spring approaching what better time to get some of my favorites together for a tasty meal?
Because our house is pretty tiny inside we decided to use our backyard as an entertaining space… considering our outdoor table is the size of our whole living room, we felt this may be a better move.
I found these vases at TJ Maxx for $10… I wanted to fill them with some gorgeous white roses, but settled for some lilac and cream carpet roses instead.
I downloaded some fonts on DaFont.com and printed simple menus on craft paper.
I put together a little makeshift mimosa/screwdriver bar area, with an old TV stand (not glamorous but it did the trick).
I also tried out an Bloody Mary recipe that you make the night before. That extra time really allows the flavors to come together… plus I liked the mess-free approach to serving a homemade mix.
Our savory entree was Sweet Potato and Turkey Sausage quiches sprinkled with goat cheese. I’ve been eating the leftovers for breakfast, and they are just as good!
I’ve been making this salad a lot lately and it’s a hit. You can put in whatever you want, but I find simplicity is key – watermelon, berries and a drizzle of homemade mint syrup over top, and you have a refreshing and gorgeous salad!
Our Mimosa Bar resulted in a lot of creative concoctions, but one of my favorite was a grapefruit mint!
Our “sweet” entree was Croissant French Toast. I paired them with mixed berries, powdered sugar and maple syrup.
The bacon was prepared in the oven. I don’t know why I haven’t done this before… less mess and so tasty!
I assembled a little cake with donut holes.
Our bartender for the day!
Playing backyard games…
Staying hydrated with mint infused water… having a pitcher on hand, reminded everyone to drink up!
A little John Mayer Pandora, some lucky sunny weather, a couple garden games and some great friends rounded out this perfect Sunday!

I’m a design student and always use Dafont when I need a few good ones for a project! Definitely a good font hub. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I still can’t get over this brunch for inspiration 🙂 My friend at work and I are throwing ourselves a goodbye party… and I’ve decided the fruit salad and mimosa bar definitely need to make an appearance 🙂 I’ll send pics! <3
