Rose Martini

For Penny’s birthday party (full post here), I created a couple specialty cocktails.  One was a Marin Mule (named after a Moscow Mule – recipe here) and the next was a concoction by yours truly.  Penny has really been into these Rose Watermelon juices from the farmers market, so I wanted to do a spin off of that… here is what I came up with!

Watermelon Juice Vodka Rosewater

Pennytini

2 oz vodka
4 oz watermelon juice
1/2 oz rosewater
1 oz lime juice

Pour ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and give it a few good shakes.  Strain into a martini glass and enjoy!

Rosewater Rickey

October 4, 2013

Gin Rose Lime Cucumber CocktailI recently bought some rosewater and have been trying to figure out creative ways to use it – enter… the Rosewater Rickey.

Gin Drink

Rosewater Rickey

  • 3 oz Hendricks Gin
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • Splash of simple syrup
  • Splash of rosewater
  • Club Soda

Shake gin, lime juice, simple syrup and rosewater in an ice filled shaker.  Strain into an ice filled glass and top with club soda. Stir and enjoy!

Rose Gin Cocktail

* I garnished these drinks with mint ice cubes.  To make them I filled large square ice cube molds 1/3 of the way and freeze.  Place a mint leaf on top and fill tray to 2/3 full.  Freeze again and then fill to the top (this will keep the mint leaf fulling submerged).

Ginger Jalapeno Margarita

September 13, 2013

Ginger MargaritaI love infused syrups and I love margaritas… so this past weekend I thought… why not mix the two?!?  I had some ginger syrup and thought that mixing it with some homemade jalapeno tequila could be just the thing… and it was!  Refreshing with a fun kick!

Jalapeno Margarita

Ginger Jalapeno Margarita

  • 3 oz premium infused tequila
  • 2 oz lime juice (I also added a little squeeze of orange juice)
  • 1 oz ginger simple syrup

Shake in an ice filled shaker and enjoy once chilled!

You can try this with any type of infused syrup or tequila… what are some other fun ideas!?

I’ve been dieting lately (yuck), but have been having a really hard time letting go of my fun drinks.  How does one try to balance this issue?  Well I grabbed some carrot juice (healthy right?) and got to mixing!
