My husband and I wanted to be better about gift giving in 2013. We wanted to be better about cards, house warming gifts, hostess presents and any surprise birthday that may (or may not) have slipped our minds.
I love this idea because it allows me to shop, but it doesn’t really count because it’s for the “gift closet,” and J loves it because we are never showing up anywhere empty handed (one of my mom’s cardinal rules).
Due to limited space I bought an over the door organizer to act as our “gifting headquarters.” I bought pretty gift wrap, and compiled all of our ribbon, gift tags, cards, gift bags, tissue and made sure to have some colored pens, tape and scissors available.
In the garage I store some good “finds” – ie vintage cocktail shakers, fun tumblers, pretty scarves, picture frames, designer flasks, candles… anything that J and I would like to receive (and often we buy doubles so we can “test” it out haha).
It makes gift giving so much more fun when we don’t have to be worried about running to a liquor store last minute for a bottle of wine… not that we’ve ever done that! 😉

Where did you find this organizer?? I’m having a hard time finding a good one with adjustable shelves to allow for tall rolls!
I had the same problem! I ended up buying mine on Amazon – http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VMW0HU/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It’s great because of the adjustable shelves, but I found I had to secure the wrapping paper with ribbon (see picture #2) to keep them from falling every time I opened the door… not the fanciest thing but it does the job.
Best of luck!
