My sister had a friend who they called PG – Party Girl. J and I love the term and sometimes you have to just “PG it up” – namely at my Vegas trip this past weekend. Here was my PG outfit that was just BOUND to put me in a fun mood!
California loves air conditioning inside, but we love to spend our time outdoors, so layers will always be critical. I continue to be obsessed with this military jacket, and love its light feel but ability to warm you up! If you haven’t bought one yet… get on it!
Accessories will always have a place in my heart… some of my staples are incorporated into this look – my GiGi cross body bag and my Chanel sunglasses.
80 degrees one day then rain the next? This weather has been so confusing lately, and I’ve learned layers are key.
This week I am going to show a few ways to wear this Zara dress that I’ve been loving lately. First weather scenario? 70 and cloudy.
I love the idea of wearing a dress as a skirt, but find a lot of styles are tough to do so with. This drop-waisted skirt makes it easy to throw a sweater over and still have some shape.
I also have been LOVING this giraffe necklace. I have had it in my shopping cart for months and finally pulled the trigger… I highly recommend J.Crew Factory’s jewelry selection if you ever are looking for inexpensive finds. I also picked this one up and love it!
Booties are another great option for cooler weather… I had some back-up sandals packed in my purse in case the weather changed. Never hurts to be prepared!
So this may be a slightly controversial post, because today, I will be talking about – wedge sneakers.
When I first heard about the concept I was horrified, and like most fashion trends I come around to them. Granted I started out with a $20 pair from Target, but I really like these (although my mom and sisters are currently trying to talk me out of them – thoughts?!).
I find these to be the most COMFORTABLE shoes, and while I’m not all aboard the “wear your Nike Frees with your brunch outfit movement,” I am working on introducing them to somewhat classic outfits – because it is very ideal to run your weekend errands in these (not gonna lie).
I have a few personal “rules” when it comes to wearing these shoes:
- Do not pull your wedge sneakers out from the 90’s – you know… this and this pair? It’s ALL about the HIDDEN wedge.
- Dressing is all about proportion (general rule) – but because the sneaker can be a bit bulky on your foot, leggings or skinny jeans are a must. A large sweatshirt, or longer jacket on top helps to balance out the look.
- Use this look for errand running/sporting events. Do not rock wedge sneakers at work, dinners out (unless you are ordering your meal from a counter) or anywhere you don’t want to deal with people commenting on said sneakers (it’s going to happen).
Despite the rules and regulations, I have had some of the most productive days in these shoes. You feel bada**, and it is the joy of wearing heels (good posture, certain body parts look particularly nice, etc.) but with the comfort of a sneaker – what isn’t to like!?
