November 21, 2014

IMG_6306

No food is prettier to me than a pomegranate, so when the season presents itself, I like to use them on EVERYTHING. Salads, main dishes, on crostinis, and of course… in cocktails.  Here is one of my favorite concoctions right now.

While I do love a cocktail that requires infused simple syrups, muddled herbs and super fun takes on classics – this easy (low mess) cocktail is great for entertaining this holiday season!

September 5, 2014

IMG_4550

My girlfriend Kelsey introduced me to the amazing Elsie Green studio and all of their amazing goodies.  Elsie Green is a family run company that curates gorgeous, sustainable finds from all over the globe. Hand woven totes from Marakkech? Vintage champagne coupes from a cafe in France? Vintage kanthas made from Indian saris? Look no further.

Each and every piece tells a story, and my favorite part (aside from their desire to work towards a desirable home, and their one of kind inventory) is their amazing partnership with 1% for the Plant – who doesn’t like to do some good and give back will shopping!?

I am so excited for the opportunity to partner with Elsie Green… I love to shop & eat locally, and their company represents that in the most beautiful way possible!  But don’t worry… I won’t keep the Elsie Green goodness all to myself… because they have very generously donated a gorgeous set of Moroccan tea glasses to one of my lucky readers!!!  Just enter the contest at the end of this post… we will announce a winner next week!

When I think of weddings, one of the first things that come to mind is champagne… the toasts, the bubbles, champagne flutes – so romantic right?  In honor of wedding week, I wanted to provide you with a classic champagne cocktail recipe – the French 75.  The fun of champagne with a dangerous little twist!

French75Cocktail2

French 75

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2-3 oz champagne or sparkling wine
  1. Combine gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in an ice filled shaker.  Shake for a good 30 seconds until frosty.

*The key here is dry champagne and ice cold ingredients – the colder the better!

The warm weather always makes me crave Mediterranean food and this is one of the easiest and freshest menus to whip up!

IMG_1774

First I start with an easy appetizer of fresh figs, mint leaves, honey and feta cheese (I prefer a delicious block of French feta, but I had to use some crumbled in a pinch).

IMG_1783

Then onto the main menu…

Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini Ribbons

Roasted Meyer Lemon Potatoes

Tzatziki with Cucumber Slices

IMG_1829

The joy of this menu is you can prep the chimichurri, tzatziki and meatballs in the morning and then whip up the potatoes while the kabobs are grilling!  Doesn’t get any better for those after work dinner parties this summer…

Berry Mint Cooler

June 20, 2014

IMG_1894

I had some extra raspberries, strawberries and blueberries that I wasn’t going to be able to consume in time, so I covered them in vodka and let sit in the fridge for a few days.  After straining them I was left with the most gorgeously pink vodka and couldn’t wait to put together a refreshing poolside cocktail!
