It’s definitely a good time for Bay Area sports and this Sunday is no exception. Looking for a good app to bring to your buddy’s Super Bowl party? Here’s your answer – Pretzel Dogs.

Go Niners!
I’m always looking for healthy and tasty snack foods. I try to pack a lunch for work every day but it’s hard sometimes to sit down for an actual lunch, so I sometime take the 6 little meal approach to eating.
Here are some of my favorites right now:
– Frozen Grapes (I’ve been tricking myself into eating these as dessert… luckily I have a freezer at work which makes this possible. The bigger the grape the better.)

– Hummus with Veggies (My go-to options are red pepper, radishes and snow peas. I prep everything Sunday night into little baggies and than can grab and go the rest of the week!)

– Babybell Cheese with Fig Crackers (The last time I had these I was probably 5 but my boss is super into them so I decided to give them a try. Eaten with a fig and rosemary cracker they are palate friendly for a 20+ year old.)

– Ricotta with Cherry Tomatoes, Basil and Balsamic Drizzle (I try to cut down on carb consumption when possible, so I just eat this straight up, but it’s great on baguette bread or crackers too. I also used to make my own balsamic glaze, but I highly recommend the kind Trader Joe’s sells – super cheap, good and hassle-free!)

One of the perks of our little house is this ah-mazing meyer lemon tree in our back yard. Unfortunately I have lemons coming out of my ears and I want to put them to good use. Here are a few fun ways I used them this weekend:
Gummy Treats – a great healthy alternative to fruit snacks… but I wasn’t totally sold on this recipe. The texture wasn’t my thing.

Citrus Salt – a fun addition to sprinkle on chicken, use in vinaigrette or… hello margarita salt!?

Lemon Crinkle Cookies – a quick and easy cookie… make it!

Other “lemony” items on my to-do list:
– Meyer Lemon Brown Butter Bars
I’ve been taking a lot of salads to work and my trusty dressing recipe (about 3 to 1 parts balsamic vinegar to olive oil and 1 part maple syrup) is becoming a little tired.
My newest obsession is a Maple Mustard dressing – Jeremy calls me Elf because I pretty much want to put maple syrup on everything. Anyway, I wanted to share it with you all… here you go!
Maple Mustard:

Well I’m back at it… with my house organized, deep cleaned and ready for 2013, I figured out our stomachs could join in on the resolution fun. I’m still trying to balance making both Jeremy’s taste buds and my waist line happy with our food choices. So here is my attempt for this week:
Turkey Meatballs with Spicy Tomato Basil Sauce and Burrata and a Caesar Salad

Maple Lemon Skirt Steak with Homemade Mashed Potatoes and Red Butter Leaf Salad with Grapes and Pistachios

Roasted Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Alfredo
