This past Sunday I went with my family to Black Ridge Vineyard’s harvest party.  It was a great day with fun food, great wine and amazing people.  If you are local, you definitely have to check them out!

I wanted to go with something comfy yet a little more formal, so I paired a black cashmere sweater with these fun printed Loft shorts.  As the day got hotter it was easy to peel off the layers and enjoy the day!

It’s Time….

August 21, 2014

Prada Miranda Priestly loves Graphic Image Datebooks…obviously.

I don’t know what it is with this year, but for once I’ve followed through with my vow to Christmas shop throughout the year.   It’s been so fun picking up goodies for friends and family during our trips or a killer online sale, and I’m most looking forward to a less stressful holiday season.

What do I think is my biggest factor to my increased organization?! Notebooks!  I’ve always been a fan of a calendar/agenda, but while most of my days don’t need minute by minute scheduling, I am a huge fan of notes, to-do lists and reminders.

WJ7 GTI-2

I have brought up NUMEROUS times how much of a fan I am of GiGi New York (my sisters, mom and I have a combined dozen pieces between the 4 of us), and when I discovered their sister store, Graphic Image’s gorgeous leather datebooks I had to share them with you all.

They not only come in a variety of leather covers (embossed python, metallic, crocodile, traditional) and colors, but has week and month-at a view layouts, as well as gorgeous cream acid-free pages and gilt edges – does it get any more luxurious than that?!

Journals

Their pocket sized, make them perfect for throwing in your clutch for the day and their desk dairies are large enough to keep track of everything in your life from business meetings to Pilates classes!

The best part? Now through September 8th use code fallfashion for 15% off of any of your Gigi New York or Graphic Images purchase… So do yourself a favor and get yourself organized for 2015… or better yet get one for someone on your Christmas list 🙂  Checking a name off in August feels AMAZING – trust me.

Curlers

My mom is a hairdresser, so I have always lucked out in the great hair care product department.  I often mix things up and and have always been open to trying new things… but I wanted to share my tried and true favorites with you all today!

Hot Tools: Hot Tools Curling Iron*

* = tried and true and has been in my hair line-up for the past 10 years

As far as my actual hair care – I was a swimmer throughout high school and was constantly washing my hair, but as I’ve gotten older I’m trying to wean off my usual schedule and protect my hair more.  Being blonde, “dirty hair days” aren’t as easy to hide, but I love good old baby powder and have tried about four different dry shampoos recently but haven’t been in love with any of them (I’ve heard good things about Oribe, so that’s next on my list!).

Currently I wash my hair every other day, and rock a good old top knot or fun braids on the “dirty” days.  I also try to let my hair air dry a bit before blowdrying/using hot tools (lessen the damage).  The fact I don’t color my hair and try to get semi regular trims (longer hair is more forgiving) has also helped me in the hair department… what secret (or not so secret) tips do you have for the hair department?!

Fall Finds 2014

Floral Dress / Plaid Blouse / Leather Striped Tee / Chambray Anorak / Eyeliner / Boots / Bag / Candles

The dreary weather this morning (in my neck of the woods), mixed with some post Nordstrom Anniversary sale nostalgia has me thinking about fall shopping.  I am one of those people who never wants summer to end, so this is a hard thing to admit, but at least with these great sales going on, it doesn’t have to be as difficult on my credit card as it is on my soul… (drama queen much!?)
